Cichlids are like precious stones, they are brightly colored,go in and out of style , and there's a species (or more ) for everyone.
Please Note: i do not breed nor sell cichlids , this is just a blog about them (with some other kinds of fish thrown in).

My Story.
(as in ,"how i got into aquariums " story
it all started with my first fish tank, a 15 gal with 1 Acei Cichlid named Blue , he lived for a long time but died recently do to a cleaning accident. ( the filter came unplugged without realization , my mother had been sweeping under the tank ) soon after the purchase of Blue at a local pet-smart i began keeping betta fish. Bettas seem to be relatively prone to neurosis as they freak out and eventually ware themselves down.My extreme love of fish started with the acquiring of my comet goldfish Gish. i rescued him from the muddy waters of a fish pong game at the county fair. Not seeming like he was going to make it , a small and frail fish , Gish was expected to die by everyone i knew simply because he was a fair fish.. i nursed him back to heath and hes been with me now for 2 , almost 3 years. then came Checkers the American Pumpkinseed Sunfish. Checkers was rescued from a fishing bucket , and if i had not plucked my beautiful boy from that bucket he would have ended up on our plates!. not that im against eating fish, dad just through my a bucket and said "keep him or clean him" and i was sold. well checkers soon out grew his 25 gallon aquarium . so we bought him an 80 gallon aquarium , which i soon filled with cichlids, an electric blue johanni, yellow lab , a hybrid between a yellow lab and an electric blue johanni , a red zebra, a pearl zebra , an electric blue ahli (which is now showing hints of hybridization ) , a psuedotropheus demisoni, a oblique ''thick skin", a female venestrus,a nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus mbochromis, a jacobfreibergi , an n.cylindrcus, a mated pair of n. meeli , an n. leleupi and two clown loaches to be exact!
